ever felt as though u were looking through an album and u were so transfixed with its contents that ur surrounding just ceases to exist? -a walk down memory lane... looking at the photographs and juz thinking about its simplicity yet reaching it was quite complex from the very beginning you start to wonder abt how thingz have became the times that have changed and u begin cherishing what you have u grasp it tightly . not ever wanting to let go coz letting go would mean losing everything.. then you start deciding and realise ur desires that seem so big are juz little pigments now and that the smallest things end up mattering the most a walk down memory lane..enlightening. is it not?? =) (((:

TURKEY!

the long awaited turkey post.



Day 1&2:
took off around Sg time : 11.30 pm
missed t): HAHA. but he wrote me a letter for my long 13hours flight to Istanbul.
on board they served us :


then watched moovies like breakfast at tiffany's etc.
for the record , i STILl feel that airline food is yucky - chicken+rice.wierd soup and i hard bread. gawd. I LOVE airlines butter tho.YUMMY! i eat it wid the HARD bread

first up ( RIGHT AFT LANDING. no one day rest at hotel mind you! ) ,
breakfast at kervansary hotel then we went to see sights like the blue mosque and sophia museum. And some landmark which reminded me of the memorial wall in Sg. juz taht its MORE cooler la. wid its wierd fonty font carved.


I love the architecture of the blue mosque and the sophia museum!





SOPHIA MUSEUM:





the place originally belonged to moslem but was taken over by christians during SOME war therefore there were islamic calligraphy and paintings of jesus and mary at different parts. Real interesting..

we then boarded the bus for a 3.5 hrs ride + going on board a ferry to reach BURSA. took in sights on the wayy and fed birdies with BREAD and drank tea.

TURKEY is known for their teaaaaaaa(:.
Reached Bursa at night and we rested for the day.
sleep sleep and miss t.

Day 3 :

we went to see calligraphy at Sultan Osman mosque there was a water feature in the middle for wudhuk.- mosque wid 20 domes.



and another musuem where turkish students were having their excursion(: HAHA. they love taking pics and were like
" KONICHIWA" or "hello" and when u reply they just repeat the hello or konichiwa and LAUGH! THEn look at you's BLANKLY! HAHAHA

we went up MOunt ULUDAk on a cable car ( there were two turkish guys hu kept staring at me and talking . dunnoe why.. and like wen i stare back they continue staring at me. wierd much ) to see

the feeling of snow is indescribable! Seriously , it felt so cold there u cld juz go numb any moment but the feeling of touching snow for the first time! ooh. brilliant i tell you. It's as soft as touching powder.. ice that is so fine. It's so darn soft too(:
I MISS SNOW. i shldve bottled some snow up but it wldve melt. ohMAN): HAHAS.

THEN WE HAD LUNCH AT THE MOST AMAZING palce everrrrr.

AFTER THIS was a loooooooooooooooooooong drive to I FORGOT where but i had dinner tehre wid eclair dessert YUM(: HAHA
We all ahd to intro ourselves (: and then i told them t's dad's " What do you get when Fed Ex and UPS join" ....

reached the hotel ate dinner and slept.


Day 4/5 ? ( i lost track of the days there. maybe due to the different timings )SO I SHALL STOP THE DAYS here. AHHAS. I CANT RMB for pete's sake! ( HELLO PETE! )

went to see virgin mary's home.a place with so much serendipidity. There was one place where they tied tissues/ white cloths on the wall with their wishes on it or smth. and some tap with luck?

Then we headed to the leather workshop where there was a FASHIOn how(:
WOOTS!






AFTER the fashions how we were brought to the shop whereby i bought a wallet and daddy gt himself a belt!

THEn we went on the bus AND saw goats ahead of us! (: HAHA.the bus had to stop just for it to pass by.



ANd we reached out next LOCATION(:
EPHESUS~

i swear i love this place. the architecture and interior of the whole place is just AMAZing. it made me feel all GREEK-ish(: like those hercules and zeus period whereby everyone wore TOGA's !

the only intact place was the library and some statues( beheaded or not ) and mainly ruins and bits of pieces of the EPHESUS city(:

THEN we went to buy turkish delights - family business!(REAL original ones. not those fake 90% sugar ones. )

had lunch and the waiter kept staring so i asked him to take a pic wid me.muahaha. i am evil. I dun usually notice wen people stare at me coz usually charlene will be telling me that some do wen we're out or travun will tell me and start doing some counting thing. HAHA. but the stares I get there are obvious till oblivious me realises. HAHA. and wen u look at them theys tills tare! HAHH~



the cool thing abt lunch. it was America Skool cafeteria style. JUSt lide ur tray and they'll pile wdvr u want!


I know we stopped by somehwere to see this camel shaped rock formations


THEN we went to HOT WATEr springs.
HIErapolis.

HAHAS. took bootsies out and stamped on the hot water. nice for a COOLing day


THE NEXT DAY :

we went to carpedocia and mommy bought the carpet. they showed us how turkish carpets were the best as they used this two knots method not one knot! supadupa cool. MOMMy bought carpet from there. OOH. HAHA.each carpet took 1 year to make by skilled carpet-people.so their hand made. and the designs WOAH, FANTABULOUSNESS. teh colour will NEVEr eear off and it look like maroon if u stand at one end and PURPLE if u stand on another. LEVI's jeans come from turkey then shipped to US. they're damn cheap there(: but i didint buy any. DAMMITS



THENNNNNNN we went to some rock/sand formation place which looked like mushrooms. but they were actually houses and stuff. wid kitchens etc. COOL! (: climbed ehre and there

We then headed to the turquoise factory.
BOught a REAl turquoise ring there. FABULOUSS. learnt how to differentiate real and fake. THANKS mommy(: now i need it resized.FAT.

WE ENDED the day by going to ____ to do pottery ( i have no idea where): sorry! )

Then we drove to ankara.
long drive. saw this vast beautiful ocean(:
stopped by.




Once we reached ankara. headed to the museum where we saw erm memorials and dudes marching. FOOTDRILL! HAHA

saw teh world's smallest quran , the alphabet changes ,swords, prophet mohammad memo's and sultan's wax figurine and their outfits.

and 3d wall things and war rooms( with sound effects n ething ) and art work.

drove all the wayy to iforgotwhere and stopped somewhere where teh snow was KNEE DEEP ! HAHAs.

At one pt the temperature was -10degrees.
freakin cold la. but i was in the comfort of the buss(:
reached hotel and had dinner another palce with nice ambience. no pix coz i was either too tired and cold or too tired and cold.hee`



Next day was a long drive to _____( istanbul i tink * ) and took pics wid the girls and stopped to have lunch at a chinese restaurant. HAHA. yum. no food for a moment tho as there was no gas! HAHA. no gas. so we waited and drank soup and yummy dishes came.


then we went to the grand bazaar to shop and met ard 7pm for dinner(:

The last day was spent free and easy as the tour family seperated and went sightseeing on our own.

it ended with a taxi ride from hell. the driver was hellious. cheat ppl out of their money. ass.( the only turn off for this whole trip* he scared the shit out of me.
